We have a genuine understanding and enthusiasm for the European venture and growth capital market, having executed more than 250 fund raisings during the last three years (helping European businesses raise over €2bn in aggregate).
We advise start-ups, global market leaders, angel investors and more than 50 institutional VC/growth capital investors on funding rounds, follow-on rounds, venture debt facilities, IPOs, trade sales and buy & build projects. We have particular expertise in the Tech, Media and Comms, Financial Services and Life Sciences sectors.
We typically get involved at series A onwards, but sometimes much earlier where we believe we can build quality business relationships and are able to offer hands-on advice to the business. We are not satisfied by just winning one-off mandates. To that end we have created a "series A ready" product in the UK and Germany to help start-ups prepare for their series A round. We then look to support all companies on their journey with subsequent equity / debt financing through to exit.
Today we have market-leading practices in several European countries (where we are top ranked by the main directories). We are working, with our clients, to build the best, most cohesive, international venture/growth capital practice, which looks and feels the same for clients across Europe.
We also have offices on the West and East coasts of the US, specifically helping US investors to participate in the European market.
We work with Osborne Clarke in England, Germany, France and Spain and have been consistently delighted with the quality of advice and support received. It feels like we are dealing with one team and a very good one at that!” Highland Europe
