Osborne Clarke has advised Studitemps GmbH, the parent company of the Cologne-based personnel service provider Jobvalley, on the acquisition of its competitor YoungCapital Germany.

Studying and working simultaneously is more the norm than the exception today. According to studies, around 70% of the nearly 3 million students in Germany work alongside their studies; the jobs they take on must meet special requirements, particularly in terms of flexibility.

Both Jobvalley and YoungCapital specialise in precisely such job offers: They match students and young professionals with companies looking for flexible staff. Jobvalley uses specially developed technology for this purpose: Through the customer portal or via the app and advanced digital matching engine, Jobvalley connects talents and job assignments within seconds.

Jobvalley has now acquired its competitor YoungCapital, and as a result of the synergy effects, the number of available assignments has increased for both parties. Existing contracts with YoungCapital Germany's customers will continue unchanged and, where possible, will be reliably handled by the same contacts. In particular, YoungCapital customers will benefit from Jobvalley's nationwide footprint and services.

“Our goal is clear: We want to upgrade the world of flexible work. YoungCapital and Jobvalley have very complementary strengths. With strong technology and operational know-how, we can expand the offering for our customers and seamlessly integrate both short- and long-term work solutions. This creates an unparalleled platform that meets the demands of the modern labour market and further expands our market leadership in flexible work for students and young professionals,” said Jobvalley CEO Clemens Weitz.

The Osborne Clarke team that advised Studitemps under the lead of Dana Alpar and Partner responsibility of Robin Eyben and Maximilian Vocke consisted of Susanne Kühlthau, Natalie Merkle, Benedikt Hülsmann (all Corporate/M&A), Dr David Plitt, Dr Sebastian Lilje (both Employment), Ann-Kristin Lochmann (Tax), Robert Briske, Dr Florian Reiling, Philipp Funke (all IP), Dr Lina Böcker, Maximilian Bodamer, Tim Schmetzer (all IT), Dr Marc Störing, Neil Simon-Weaver (both Data Protection), Olexiy Oleshchuk, Hriday Chawla and Arsen Dutka (all Financing).
