Osborne Clarke has advised Kester Capital, a leading UK lower mid-market private equity firm, on its exit from the Atec Group

Atec Group is a data-driven manufacturer and distributor of specialist insurance products in the UK and has undergone impressive organic growth following Kester Capital's acquisition. Kester Capital has worked alongside Atec's management team, led by Brendan Devine and Ian Gilbert, to deepen Atec's insurer relationships, add underwriting expertise and establish Atec as a broad-based insurance group, driven by technology and data and build out its Arkel business.

The transaction is subject to FCA regulatory approval.

The Osborne Clarke team was led by Partner Pippa Byrne, Associates Jack Harris and Harry Stewart, and Trainee Solicitor Sophia Margetts.

Osborne Clarke specialist advice was provided by Associate Director James Hunt, Senior Associate Jon Dodds, and Associate Alex Wileman-Smith (Banking), Legal Director Clare Burman (Financial Institutions Group) and Associate Director Elizabeth Shanahan and Senior Associate Ben Doeh (Tax).

Partner, Mike Freer, provided advice to the management team.
