Siân Edmonds

Siân is a Senior Associate in the IP Disputes team. Siân has a technical background, having studied Chemistry (M.Chem) at the University of Oxford. As a result, she has a particular interest in advising clients on complex technical matters, particularly in the Life Sciences and Healthcare and Retail and Consumer (Food and Drink) sectors.

Siân's experience encompasses assisting with high value complex patent litigation, including providing strategic advice concerning parallel proceedings in multiple jurisdictions.

In addition to patent disputes, Siân advises clients on a range of IP issues, including trade mark registration and enforcement; copyright disputes; and passing off. She has acted as lead associate in successful arbitration proceedings before the ICC International Court of Arbitration and regularly represents clients in a range of sectors in contentious trade mark proceedings before the UK and EU IPO.

Siân writes regular commentary on the IP implications of current events and industry trends, and has been published in industry publications, including New Food Magazine (on gene editing), The Grocer, and Food Manufacture (on alternative proteins).

She has also presented at Young EPLAW, the junior European Patent Lawyers Association. She has also completed the Postgraduate Diploma in IP Law and Practice at the University of Oxford, with Merit (2020/2021).

Siân trained at Osborne Clarke and qualified into the IP disputes team. Prior to this, she worked at a specialist IP firm. She is ranked as an IP Stars, Rising Star (2021 and 2022).
