Osborne Clarke has advised Validaitor in its latest funding round. The Karlsruhe start-up secured investments from Bitdefender Voyager Ventures, EnBW New Ventures, KIT and the Start-up BW Seed Fund of MBG Baden-Württemberg.

The start-up Validaitor, a spin-off of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), offers a platform that helps companies comply with AI regulations. Founded in 2022 by Yunus Bulut, the platform combines solutions for AI governance, risk management and automated testing in one place. The offering aims to ensure the compliant operation of AI tools for organisations dealing with complex legal frameworks such as the EU AI Act or other EU standards.

In a recently successfully completed funding round, the start-up raised fresh capital from a number of renowned investors. According to their own statement, Validaitor is particularly pleased with the specific expertise that the participants in the funding round bring: the cybersecurity competence of Bitdefender Voyager Ventures, the knowledge of regulated markets and critical infrastructures of EnBW New Ventures, the experience of KIT in research and innovation and the expertise of the Start-up BW Seed Fund of MBG Mittelständische Beteiligungsgesellschaft Baden-Württemberg in supporting start-ups.

“With this strong investor base, we’d like to accelerate our mission to make AI trustworthy. Our platform helps customers across the board to save up to 80% of the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for AI certification,” said Bulut.

The Osborne Clarke team, which advised Validaitor under the lead of Benedikt Hülsmann and partner responsibility of Nicolas Gabrysch, consisted of Dr Jana Bertus, Lucas Schmiegelt (all Corporate / VC) and Ann-Kristin Lochmann (Tax).
