The Lawyer has announced its Hot 100 list for 2023 which includes Osborne Clarke managing partner Conrad Davies and employment and future of work partner Olivia Sinfield, who is one of the Firm's partners leading on its successful apprenticeship programme.
The Hot 100 2023 recognises innovative and creative lawyers who are currently managing successful firms – leading ground-breaking initiatives or acting on high profile client matters during the last year.
Conrad Davies was elected as Osborne Clarke's UK managing partner in 2022, beginning his tenure on 1st January this year. Having spent more than 17 years at the firm, Conrad became a Partner in 2011. He helped to establish the firm's corporate real estate practice 10 years ago and also headed up the firm's international real estate and infrastructure sector for seven years.
The Lawyer's write up comments on Conrad: "Davies’ passion is delivering what clients really need to help them build a business, not just solving a legal problem. His role initially will focus on reiterating the same sector-focused, people-friendly message his firm has successfully created, ensuring that the “OC buzz” [Ray] Berg helped create is maintained. His ultimate goal boils down to living and breathing OC’s strategy and encouraging every single person in the business to do the same. Don’t bet against him achieving this."
Olivia Sinfield is a partner who leads a team of employment lawyers specialising in 'GDPR for HR' advice. She is ranked in the Hot100 this year for her work on the firm's apprenticeship scheme, and is praised as a 'true pioneer.'
The Lawyer writes: "As well as being a reliable and informed mentor, she must convince partners to dedicate time to her apprentice squad. Peers say Sinfield has achieved both these tasks with gusto, using the success of the Bristol apprenticeship programme to demonstrate its strength while at the same time putting her apprentices at ease in City life. Sinfield brings a fresh perspective to legal education that has all the hallmarks of true innovation, using tools such as TikTok to open communication lines, for example, or elevating the visibility of apprentices on YouTube. As competition for apprentice learners heats up, Osborne Clarke can be proud to be home to one of its original pioneers."
Osborne Clarke lawyers recognised in The Lawyer Hot 100 in the last four years include Ray Berg in 2022, Arty Rajendra in 2021, Alice Conway in 2020, and Catherine Hammon and Dan Wright in 2019.
