Osborne Clarke has elected a new Executive Board in its Netherlands office.
As of 1 February 2021 partners Jeroen Bedaux and Johannes de Jong have joined as board members and, together with David de Swaan, form the Executive Board of Osborne Clarke in Amsterdam.
Managing Partner Jeroen takes over from Bas Beenen, who has come to the end of his second term after six years. Jeroen is one of the founders of Osborne Clarke in the Netherlands. In addition to his role as Managing Partner, he will continue to lead the Dispute Resolution team. He has extensive experience in litigating complex and international cases, both in court proceedings and in arbitration.
Johannes succeeds Cristine Brinkman as a board member. Johannes leads Osborne Clarke's Financial Regulatory team in Amsterdam and is an experienced financial supervision lawyer. He has built up an impressive client base at Osborne Clarke. He advises on and assists in the development of new products and services, license applications and the impact of (future) regulatory matters on companies.
David de Swaan will be the third member of the executive team. David has been COO in the Netherlands since 2018 and he will continue in this role.
We have simply been able to keep our motto alive: only work for fun and interesting clients, with only fun and passionate colleagues and only in fun and high profile matters.
Jeroen comments: “We have experienced very strong growth since the start of our office in 2014 and have become a mature full-service firm. Over the past six years, we have built a fantastic Dutch and international client base without compromising our unique culture with good work-life balance as one its main pillars. We have simply been able to keep our motto alive: only work for fun and interesting clients, with only fun and passionate colleagues and only in fun and high profile matters. Working at Osborne Clarke energizes. I am looking forward to continuing the excellent work of Bas and Cristine and to leave an unforgettable mark on the next phase of Osborne Clarke together with Johannes and David."
During the last three years, the Amsterdam office has grown from a team of 25 to almost 50 fee earners and has seen impressive double digits revenue growth. It has developed a strong culture based on four key values: quality, respect, innovation and fun & work-life balance. Thanks to its strong culture Osborne Clarke has succeeded in attracting top lawyers at all levels. The first home grown partners have already been appointed and there are several promising rising stars in the firm. Osborne Clarke moved to a new and innovative office in the spring of 2020 that reflects Osborne Clarke's non-traditional style and provides the team a user-friendly, sustainable and fun work environment.
