Osborne Clarke has advised RetailTech start-up HomeRide, previously known as baoo, on its latest funding round.

Getting products from local retailers conveniently delivered to your home on the same day: That's what Cologne-based start-up HomeRide, previously known as baoo, offers. Founded in 2021 by Michael Müller, Mirco Meyer and Hendrik Lallensack, the company stands out from other same-day delivery companies primarily because of its offering. Customers can order not only food and household goods, but also electrical goods, books, home accessories and much more. Currently only represented in Cologne, HomeRide works with more than 30 partner companies – such as MediaMarktSaturn, BUTLERS and toom.

In the course of this year, the start-up wants to offer new delivery areas and expand into other metropolitan regions. To this end, HomeRide was able to attract Xpress Ventures, SchneiderGolling and business angels such as Xentral founder Benedikt Sauter, hagebau Connect CEO Marco Werner, start-up recruiter Melina Brandstetter and Felix Finger as investors.

The team advising HomeRide, led by Nicolas Gabrysch, consisted of Victor Robertz (both Corporate/VC), Nils-Frederik Wiehmann (Labour Law), and Dr Jens Wrede (Tax Law).
