International legal practice Osborne Clarke has advised the shareholders of Pagefield Communications Limited ("Pagefield"), a leading strategic communications and cross-party affairs advisory firm, on its acquisition by PPHC, a US-based government relations and public affairs holding company.
The Osborne Clarke corporate team assisting the shareholders of Pagefield was led by corporate partner Jonathan Crowley with support from senior associate Ben Parker and associate Courtney Cox (corporate), Mathew Oliver and Jonny Squires (tax) and Ed Grey (employment).
Founded in 2010 and headquartered in London, Pagefield has earned widespread recognition for its excellence and impact in helping clients navigate UK legislation and regulation. Comprising an entirely cross-party team of 36 full-time employees, the firm has deep familiarity with the UK’s political, business and media landscapes.
PPHC is establishing a foothold outside the US for the first time to broaden its geographical presence. The acquisition sets the stage for significant synergies between the PPHC Group’s network of more than 1,200 clients and 350+ policy and communications experts.
Going forward, Pagefield will serve as a critical anchor for PPHC’s further expansion into Europe, the Middle East and Africa and will operate independently as a wholly owned subsidiary, maintaining its distinct brand identity and management team including Oliver Foster, Mark Gallagher and Sara Price.
Oliver Foster, Chief Executive at Pagefield, commented:
“Osborne Clarke was recommended to us by a trusted advisor. Any reservations we had about entrusting this deal to a firm we had never worked with before were batted away in record time. From the first call it was obvious that our lead Partner, JC, was an expert in our sector and shared our commitment to working with rigour and humour! He and his team, Ben and Courtney, gave crystal clear advice - helping us to prioritise - and worked all hours of the day and night in a collegiate way that was very much aligned with how we do business ourselves.”
Osborne Clarke’s corporate team is a go-to practice for companies in the tech, media and comms sector. Its clients range from global businesses to fast-growth start-ups and market challengers. The team advises at every stage of company development across all corporate issues, from equity and debt fundraisings to M&A, IPOs and JVs.
