Cologne/Berlin, April 28, 2020. The international legal practice Osborne Clarke has advised Sequoia Capital and firstminute capital on an investment in n8n GmbH. For one of their rare direct investments in Germany up to now, Sequoia Capital relied on VC-specialist Rouven Siegemund who has a broad network both in the local target market and on the US West Coast.
The seed round of $1.5 million is being co-led by Sequoia Capital and UK’s firstminute capital with participation also from Runa Capital, Tiny VC, System.One and several individual investors. The Osborne Clarke team led by Rouven Siegemund (Corporate/VC) consisted of Florian Merkle (Tax), Joachim Breithaupt (Tax), Annabel Lehnen (Employment), Konstantin Ewald and Felix Hilgert (both IT). The transaction proves Osborne Clarke´s strong footprint in the venture capital sector, its focus on technology transactions and stresses its strong positioning in the Silicon Valley where Osborne Clarke maintains a longstanding presence with offices in Palo Alto and San Francisco.
n8n is a free and open node-based Workflow Automation Tool. It can be self-hosted, easily extended, and used with third party web applications or custom in-house tools to automate repetitive tasks.
firstminute capital is a European seed fund based in London investing mainly in European early-stage tech companies. The firm has engaged Osborne Clarke in previous transactions already.
