Osborne Clarke has advised Redstone / VR Ventures on an investment in AI company xAI as part of a Series B financing round totalling USD 6 billion. In US law, Osborne Clarke worked with the law firm Lowenstein Sandler.

xAI is working on building Artificial Intelligence (AI) to accelerate human scientific discovery. The company's stated mission is to advance our collective understanding of the universe. xAI is led by Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX. 

The AI start-up has now successfully completed its Series B financing round: Redstone / VR Ventures and investors such as Andreessen Horowitz and Sequoia Capital raised a total of USD 6 billion for xAI. The money will be used to launch xAI's first products on the market, build an advanced infrastructure and accelerate the research and development of future technologies, according to xAI. According to media reports, the financing round increases the company's valuation from USD 18 billion (as published by Elon Musk on the short message service X) to USD 24 billion.
