Osborne Clarke has advised the European investor Redalpine on its investment in the Series A funding round totalling EUR 15 million in the Belgian LegalTech start-up LegalFly.

LegalFly was founded in 2023 by a team of former product experts from the dating platform Tinder: Ruben Miessen, Kasper Verbeeck, Dennis Montégnies, and Gregory Vekemans. The start-up aims to broadly provide legal services for companies using Artificial Intelligence (AI). The specially developed AI co-pilot is tailored to legal teams and helps increase efficiency in legal disputes, contract reviews, and contract drafting – all under the highest data security standards. LegalFly's clients include dozens of leading European law firms and companies; the start-up also has strategic partnerships with industry giants such as Slaughter & May and Allianz.

The AI platform for legal services has now successfully completed its Series A funding round of EUR 15 million, led by Notion Capital and with participation from Redalpine and Fortino Capital. This investment comes just eight months after the company’s EUR 2 million Seed round, which was led by Redalpine and saw participation from industry leaders such as Mehdi Ghissassi, Director of Product at Google Deepmind.

This investment enables us to scale our operations and drive further innovation, advancing the digital transformation of legal services that our clients need globally.

Ruben Miessen, CEO of LegalFly

Redalpine was advised by an international Osborne Clarke team comprising Maximilian Vocke (Osborne Clarke Germany, Corporate / VC) and Hadrien Chef (Osborne Clarke Belgium, Corporate / VC).
