International law firm Osborne Clarke has advised Highland Europe on its lead investment in consumer technology brand, Nothing's US$96 million fundraising round to scale its product and technology portfolio. This round brings Nothing’s total funding to US$250 million, just as the company crosses 1.5 million products sold.
The funding round included participation from existing investors GV (Google Ventures), EQT Ventures and C Capital, alongside house music supergroup Swedish House Mafia.
Osborne Clarke's team was led by corporate partner Rob Wood and senior associates Josephine Healy-Russell and Sian Daly.
Founded in 2020, Nothing's debut smartphone, Phone (1), made Time Magazine’s prestigious “Best Inventions of 2022”. With over 450 people across seven offices worldwide and a cutting-edge design, user interface innovation and community collaboration, the company is creating an ecosystem of tech products for the young and creative. These products are thoughtfully built to contribute to a more sustainable future.
Highland Europe focuses on high-potential technology companies and has invested based on Nothing’s success to date and future potential. Partner Tony Zappalà led the recent round and will be joining Nothing’s board.
Osborne Clarke has also advised Highland Europe on recent investments across Europe. These include Combo (previously Snapshift) in France, Podimo in Sweden and Huel in the UK.
