The international legal practice Osborne Clarke has advised Dieter Schoeller on the buyback of his indie publisher Headup from the Swedish game manufacturer Thunderful.

In March 2021, Thunderful Group AB acquired Headup GmbH, based in Düren, North Rhine-Westphalia, which is known for award-winning games such as Bridge Constructor and Trüberbrook. Now the former Headup seller and company founder Dieter Schoeller is buying back the company and transferring all shares and the 25-strong workforce to the existing Microcuts Holding GmbH. As part of this agreement, Thunderful will receive a rights package for game brands and yet unannounced titles, some of whose sales Thunderful will continue to share in the future.

The Osborne Clarke team that advised Dieter Schoeller on the transaction, led by Nicolas Gabrysch, consisted of Victor Robertz (both Corporate / M&A), Konstantin Ewald, Jonathan Platz (both IT) and Dr Jens Wrede (Tax).
