International legal practice Osborne Clarke is proud to announce its festive fundraising programme has donated £13,950 to support local charities this year across Bristol, London and Reading.

The firm is continuing its longstanding tradition of adopting local charity partners for its three UK offices, this year supporting: Gympanzees in Bristol, The Childhood Trust in London and Rosie's Rainbow Fund in Reading.

Colleagues from across Osborne Clarke's three UK offices donated money to take part in a programme of festive activities which went above and beyond the collective target of £4,000 to raise £6,975 (including Gift Aid contributions). Osborne Clarke's Charitable Trust then matched donations to bring the grand total to £13,950.

The festive fun, frolics and fundraising kicked off in December with a three week programme fuelled by prizes, events and surprises. The popular free prize draw saw colleagues hoping to bag one of a number of generous donations from partners, ranging from a Supercar passenger driving experience to a wakeboarding lesson for two and even tickets to watch Saracens v Harlequins' upcoming rugby match. The 'QUIZmas Cracker' Quiz made for an entertaining evening; and Christmas Jumper Day and mince pies and mulled wine encouraged the offices to embrace the seasonal spirit.

'The Big Give' was also launched in the run up to the festive period as a way for employees to support a local charity or cause close to their hearts. Employees could nominate a chosen local charity to receive a £250 donation from the firm's Charitable Trust. So far, £12,750 has been donated to over 50 local charities.

All of 'The Big Give' donations will deliver a clear, positive social impact in one or more of the firm's four identified priority areas:

  • Equality (addressing inequality and supporting marginalised groups)
  • Environment (helping to reduce impact on the environment)
  • Education (helping to prepare the next generation to thrive in an uncertain future)
  • Poverty (helping to reduce digital, relative and absolute poverty across local communities).

This all important fundraising will support the efforts of local charities and are part of the firm's broader, ongoing charitable giving activity, which is rooted in the Osborne Clarke For Good framework. This is the firm's way of ensuring it's a good employer, a good business and a good corporate citizen.
