Founded in 1952, HAK has evolved as the market leader and innovator of plant-based food solutions in the Benelux, targeting over 110 million consumers per year.
The refinancing allows HAK to execute its strategic agenda for the coming years and to strengthen the HAK brand, with a focus on natural products and local and sustainable farming, while helping consumers to increase their vegetables intake.
As borrower counsel, the Osborne Clarke team advised HAK and negotiated all finance documents from start to end, which includes among others the term sheet, term and revolving facility agreement, a borrowing base facility agreement and related ancillary documents including security. The multi-jurisdictional financing has been provided by ING Bank N.V. and ING Commercial Finance B.V. and also permits HAK to further expand its business in Germany.
The Osborne Clarke team was led by Axel van der Staak and included Marlinde Klein Ganseij and Annick Wilmer as well as Antje Guenther, Reinhard Bunjes and Arsen Dutka from Osborne Clarke Cologne.
