International law firm Osborne Clarke welcomes Tom Lewis as a partner and Head of Corporate Structuring and Simplifications (CSS) in its Corporate team.
Tom has over 10 years' experience specialising in CSS work and leading international business reorganisation projects. He is a company law expert who focuses on corporate group structuring in connection with pre and post M&A activity, simplification and rationalisation, supply chain restructuring and group treasury arrangements. Tom's experience of working in big 4 accountancy firms means that he is familiar with tax, accounting and commercial issues that impact on the legal implementation of reorganisation projects.
Tom joins the firm from PwC where he had been a Director within Legal Services for five years. He studied law at the University of Bristol and qualified at Shearman & Sterling.
Tom Lewis commented: "I am delighted to be joining Osborne Clarke's rapidly growing Corporate team. The opportunity to draw upon my experience to take ownership and lead the firm's CSS work is incredibly exciting.
"In the current economic climate, there is high demand among our clients for specialist CSS advice. I therefore look forward to taking a pro-active and internationally aligned approach to successfully build out this part of the business across the Osborne Clarke network."
Tom was recognised as a 'key lawyer' for International Business Reorganisations (Tier 1) in The Legal 500 directory for 2021 AND 2022, in which he has been described as "excellent in taking time to ensure that projects run smoothly and in line with expectations" and "exceptionally personable and knowledgeable".
Tom is the second partner to join from PwC, following Carol Dick in the Pensions team last month.
Greg Leyshon, Partner and Head of Business Transactions Group at Osborne Clarke, commented:
"We are extremely pleased to have Tom join us in this new role. His specialist technical and organisational skills will be critical in ensuring we continue to properly service and support our clients as we expand our CSS offering. I am excited to see how Tom grows out this part of the business on an international scale over the coming economic cycles."
