International legal practice Osborne Clarke has advised Merus Capital on its investment in Silexica GmbH. Merus Capital led the investment round with participation from Paua Ventures, Seed Fonds Aachen and DSA Invest. Silexica raised USD 8 million in total in the current financing round. The company will use the funding, among other things, to extend its products.
Merus Capital is an early-stage venture capital firm dedicated to helping entrepreneurs build successful software and internet companies.
Silexica provides a complete tools environment for programming complex multicore applications, such as a software tool that speeds up programmes to make them more energy efficient. As a spin-off of RWTH Aachen’s Institute for Communication Technology and Embedded Systems (ICE), the company most recently received a EUR 1 million investment from Seed Fonds Aachen and DSA Invest.
The Osborne Clarke team that advised on the investment was led by Partner Nicolas Gabrysch who was assisted by Rouven Siegemund (both Corporate) and Felix Hilgert (IT).
