Osborne Clarke in Paris has advised Shopinvest and its co-founders, entrepreneurial duo, Karine Schrenzel and Olivier Gensburger, on the acquisition of Rue du Commerce from Carrefour. With this acquisition Karine and Olivier will continue the consolidation of their e-commerce group. The purchase of Rue du Commerce follows on from Shopinvest's takeover of 3 Suisses in 2018 and marks its tenth acquisition.
The Carrefour group wishing to refocus on online sales of food products, had begun the process of selling the emblematic Rue du Commerce brand in June 2019.
With this acquisition the entrepreneur couple are aiming for 500 million euros in business volume over the next five years.
