Osborne Clarke's market-leading venture funds practice has advised on the launch of the second early-stage technology fund from firstminute capital, which closed last week.

Osborne Clarke advised on the establishment of firstminute when it was founded in 2016 by Brent Hoberman CBE (best known as co-founder of lastminute.com and MADE.com), together with Spencer Crawley (formerly of Goldman Sachs), and on the launch of its first fund of $100 million, which together with Fund II gives firstminute $211 million in assets under management.

The fund will invest at seed stage in technology start-ups in the UK, US and Europe. The fund has received the backing and investment of high-profile technology founders and leaders.

Helen Parsonage said: "We are delighted to have worked with firstminute capital on this project, and great to see such a successful fundraise in the current market circumstances."

Brent Hoberman of firstminute said: "The venture funds team at Osborne Clarke, led by Helen, have an in depth understanding of the commercial drivers for us and our LPs, and their responsive can-do attitude has really helped us drive this process forward. We are very pleased to have had them on our side since the first set up of firstminute and on into our second fund."
