International law firm Osborne Clarke has advised Highland Europe on its lead investment in Huel's $24 million funding round to help scale-up its business through growth in retail channels and global expansion, with a particular focus on the US market.
The team was led by Corporate Partner Robert Wood and included Associate Director Robert Pook and Senior Associate Josephine Healy-Russell.
Huel primarily sells its plant-based drinks, powders and meal products directly to customers online – it's mission being to deliver nutritionally complete food, sustainably.
The funding round values Huel at US$560m and it has already captured the support of several high profile personalities including Idris and Sabrina Dhowre Elba, Grace Beverley and Jonathan Ross. The company's meals fit within a diet aligned with limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees, and Huel believes that raising awareness of our diets is one of the simplest and most effective actions people can take to tackle climate change.
