Osborne Clarke has advised Framode GmbH, the German subsidiary of the French fashion retailer Pimkie, based in Willstätt. Under the protective shielding procedure, which was filed last week, Osborne Clarke is fully advising the management on all legal aspects of the restructuring.
The Osborne Clarke team, led by Philip Meichssner (Munich, Corporate/Real estate) and Katrin Schröder (Cologne, Insolvency), includes Matthias Elser (Munich, Corporate), Dr David Plitt (Hamburg, Employment), Florian Merkle (Cologne, Tax), Christoph Boeminghaus (Cologne) and Dr Thomas Grünvogel (Munich, both Distribution).
Pimkie was founded in France in 1971 and is owned by the Mulliez family. Since 1988, Pimkie has operated in Germany as Framode GmbH and generated a turnover of almost EUR 50 million in 2019 with 75 stores and 350 employees. By means of the protective shielding process, the company intends to further expand its online presence, while preserving as many locations and jobs as possible.
