Osborne Clarke advises Banking Circle on Biller acquisition, supporting next gen instant business invoice payments
Osborne Clarke in The Netherlands has advised b2b payment solutions specialist Banking Circle on its acquisition of Biller B.V., an Amsterdam-based FinTech that offers an AI-driven Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) company invoices.
The acquisition comes just six months after its founding and shows how Biller has cemented itself as a possible leader in the untapped B2B credit space. Following this acquisition, Biller will operate autonomously. The fast-growth company plans to expand from 15 to more than 150 employees this year and to broaden its coverage to the UK, Germany, Belgium, and Nordics in the first half of 2022.
The team at Osborne Clarke was led by Geoffrey Beurskens and included Nick Staes, Job van der Pol, Johannes de Jong and Cars-Jan van Gool.
Osborne Clarke's financial services sector team advises clients ranging from start-ups, scale-ups/growth businesses and FinTech unicorns to challenger banks, payments, retail and consumer finance, platforms, large corporates and institutions as well as lenders, investors and industry bodies and regulators.
