Peter Warcup is an Associate in Osborne Clarke’s Commercial Disputes and Risk team. He has significant experience in handling cybersecurity incidents, ranging from business email compromises to headline-grabbing, multi-jurisdictional ransomware attacks. Peter regularly helps clients respond to critical incidents, advising on regulatory issues, risk management, communication strategies, complex data mining exercises, and ransom payment considerations.
Peter has a proven track record of supporting clients through regulatory investigations, regularly engaging with regulators and advising on regulatory engagement strategies. He also has extensive experience advising clients on day-to-day data breaches and contentious data protection compliance issues.
In addition to his expertise in cyber and data protection matters, Peter represents clients in data subject claims and B2B disputes arising from data breaches and cybersecurity incidents. He also advises clients on cybersecurity compliance, including in relation to the NIS regulations, and preparing associated policies and agreements.
Peter also regularly delivers training sessions and war game exercises for clients, helping them prepare for potential cyber incidents and enhancing their response strategies.
Alongside his specialism in cyber and data protection issues, Peter also has experience acting for clients in relation to investigations.
