Charles is a Senior Associate in our Intellectual Property team. He advises on disputes, brand portfolios, IP strategy and commercialisation, specialising in trade marks, copyright, database rights and parallel imports.

Charles has successfully represented a wide range of claimant and defendant parties in both court proceedings and settlements. He is also adept at negotiating the full spectrum of IP agreements, including licences, collaborations, assignments and co-existence agremeents. He has experience across a wide range of sectors, with particular interests including emerging technologies, luxury brands, FMCGs and the automotive sector.

Prior to joining Osborne Clarke, Charles trained at a Magic Circle law firm, qualifying into their Intellectual Property and Technology department. Whilst there, he completed secondments at a German law firm and in-house with a client. This has helped him develop an international, client-focused and commercial perspective to his advice and dispute work.

Prior to training as a lawyer, Charles graduated from Oxford with a First in Classics, and worked as a secondary school teacher on a social mobility programme.
