The King's Speech, reform of the Listing Rules, and EU AI compliance deadlines

In the King's Speech on Wednesday, the new government set out its legislative agenda for this parliamentary session. Later this month, changes to the Listing Rules will come into force. The FCA has moved towards a more streamlined, disclosure-based regime intended to make the UK more competitive as a destination for public listings.

The EU's AI Act will become law on 1 August – with staggered compliance deadlines running from that date in respect of the different categories of artificial intelligence. Our Insight sets out the relevant dates for businesses to be aware of.
