International legal practice Osborne Clarke has made up nine Partners across Europe, with UK promotions to follow at the end of its financial year. The promotions span across the firm's sectors and include practitioners across: IT Data, IP, disputes and risk, corporate, restructuring, financial regulation and procurement practice areas.

Partner promotions

Belgium

Laurens Dauwe joined in 2018 and advises Belgian and international clients on the negotiation of IT contracts and software licenses, outsourcing deals and cloud computing agreements, as well as exiting from (global) outsourcing set-ups and transferring to new suppliers. Laurens also leverages his deep understanding of the technology market and assists on cutting edge issues in the field of digital platforms, cybersecurity, blockchain and artificial intelligence.

Valentin de le Court joined two years ago and he has significantly developed the IP and patent litigation practice since his arrival. Having lived and worked in Shanghai for several years, Valentin also brings an on-the-ground China IP expertise, and regularly assists Belgian biotech companies with their technology transfer agreements to China.

Germany

Lene Kohl moved to the firm's Disputes and Risk practice group in 2019 as an experienced Counsel specialising in complex civil litigation. Her particular experience is in mass litigation as well as in corporate disputes (post-M&A and shareholder disputes), construction and HOAI litigation, construction arbitration, IT disputes and energy disputes.

Robert Briske joined Osborne Clarke in 2016 as a member of the IP practice group. His focus is on Soft IP, i.e., trade mark, design, copyright and competition law with a particular emphasis on litigation and digital transformation issues. His technical affinity also benefits him at the IP/IT interface (in particular in the area of digital regulation and litigation).

Thies Goldner specialises in advising banks, investors, project developers and plant constructors, on renewable energy projects since joining in 2016. As a new Partner in the Energy practice group, he focusses on energy M&A, energy project finance and asset management and will drive forward the strengthening of the transactions / projects pillar in the renewable energy sector at the firm's Hamburg office.

Tobias Rothkegel, who also joined Osborne Clarke in 2016, specialises in data protection, cyber security and advises clients in the life science and healthcare and financial services sectors. His work also focuses on advising on the legal aspects of the use of blockchain technology and on the development and marketing of legal tech products.

Italy

Maurizio Zonca joined the firm in 2015. An expert in insolvency law, he advises companies on arrangements with creditors procedures, debt restructuring agreements, tax settlements and certified recovery plans. He has gained experience in restructuring companies operating in the renewable energy and automotive sectors, working in close co-ordination with the clients also in the management of the day-to-day life of the companies.

Netherlands

Juliet de Graaf joined the Financial Regulatory Practice in 2021 and specialises in a broad range of financial markets regulations. She has particular experience with payments and banking laws and related licensing procedures, regulatory change projects, governance, outsourcing, and policy frameworks. She also advises on current and future implications of Dutch and European law, in relation to both existing businesses and the development of new financial products and services.

Spain

José Ramón Medina is a specialist in public procurement, particularly in the field of health sciences and the healthcare sector. Having joined the firm in 2016, he has extensive experience advising national and foreign companies in their relationships with Spanish public entities. He also has extensive experience in urban planning law, the environment and competition law, with a special focus on all phases of public procurement, administrative and contentious-administrative litigation, and transactions in regulated sectors.

Additional new joiner

In addition to the promotions, Linn Solholm joins as a Partner and our new Head of the Built Environment Sector Team in Stockholm.  She joins from Sweden's largest law firm, Mannheimer Swartling, where she spent nearly eight years in the firm's real estate practice group.

A specialist in commercial real estate transactions, Linn regularly advises on large and complex projects, direct real estate transactions, corporate transactions, real estate joint ventures and property formation.  She also brings a wealth of experience advising on commercial tenancy and other usufruct, contract negotiations, matters with construction issues, as well as project, development, structural and corporate issues.  Her clients regularly include real estate companies, listed companies, funds, municipalities and state-owned companies, among others.

With a keen interest in helping companies achieve their growing sustainability ambitions, Linn also joins the firm's Energy and Utilities Sector Team and will together with the growing team in Sweden help clients with energy transactions and land permits among other areas.
