Osborne Clarke has established the #FindTheOrange Merit Award for students of the University of Milan enrolled in the Master's Degree Course in Human-Centred Artificial Intelligence, an inter-university course at the University of Milan, University of Milano-Bicocca and University of Pavia.
The aim of the course is to provide students with the interdisciplinary skills required to integrate artificial intelligence applications in the human context (business, institutional, educational) in which these applications are to be used. It therefore intends to train professional figures capable of exercising functions with a high degree of responsibility in organisations and services directed at individuals, groups and communities (public administration, public and private companies) and to contribute to the design of computer interfaces and systems that are consistent with the human context of reference, understanding how to deal with complex problems that involve variables of a non-technical nature: strategic objectives, moral values, legal constraints, cognitive biases and other psychological and social factors. The course is divided into three curricula, each of which aims to provide specific training in three contexts: the integration of AI applications in an organisation, clinical and theoretical neuroscience, and legal and ethical aspects.
Giuseppe Primiero, Professor of Logic, Head of Program, Master's Degree in Human-Centered AI: "The Master's Degree in Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence proposes an innovative, ambitious and high quality offer for the training of the new class of AI specialists with a perspective strongly centred on human values and skills. We are delighted and very grateful to have found in #FindTheOrange an equally ambitious and committed partner, ready to support our students on this new path, crucial for them and society as a whole".
Riccardo Roversi, Chairman of #FindTheOrange and Co-managing partner of Osborne Clarke in Italy: "When we learnt about the establishment of an interdisciplinary degree course aimed at promoting the synergistic relationship between technology and human intelligence, we immediately wanted to investigate and contribute. The mission of #FindTheOrange, a non-profit association founded by Osborne Clarke in Italy with the aim of promoting innovation, falls perfectly in line with this project, which we are thrilled to support".
Nunzia Melaccio, Co-managing partner of Osborne Clarke in Italy: "What education should we provide to this pivotal generation called upon to deal with a socio-economic scenario that is very different from the current one? We have asked ourselves this question as an organisation, aware that the answer lies in a collective vision that transcends individual and specific interests".
Giorgio Lezzi, Co-managing partner of Osborne Clarke in Italy: "We are an innovation-oriented international law firm that has made technology a cornerstone of its offering and we are committed to ensuring that our contribution extends to the wider community of which we are a part. Hence, the sense of this award, which we hope will help support and promote education in a new and increasingly indispensable field".
