Osborne Clarke advised VR Ventures, as shareholder of Penta, on its acquisition by Qonto. Qonto is the market leader in France for digital financial management for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), self-employed and freelancers and is active across Europe; Penta is the market leader in this segment in Germany.
The transaction is expected to close in the coming weeks. This will create a leading European company with approximately 300,000 corporate clients and 900 employees.
Penta promises to provide products and services that simplify and make more convenient the finances of SMEs, self-employed and freelancers - from daily banking, invoicing and expense management to accounting and hedging entrepreneurial risks.
The team advising VR Ventures was led by Maximilian Vocke (Corporate / M&A) under the partner responsibility of Robin Eyben and consisted of Joanna Chudzinski, Robert Marx (both Corporate / M&A) and Dr Jens Wrede (Tax).
