Osborne Clarke has advised HTGF, eCapital and Demeter on the sale of their shares in envelio GmbH to E.ON. With envelio and its specialised team, the DAX-listed group thus secures a key technology for the efficient management of energy networks. The financial terms of the transactions were not disclosed.
envelio is a spin-off of RWTH Aachen University and offers energy grid operators the Intelligent Grid Platform (IGP), a software platform for the next phase of the energy transition. With envelio's IGP, future-proof energy grids can be planned and operated digitally and automatically. Renewable energies and charging points for electromobility can thus be integrated into the energy system more quickly and cost-effectively. The central basis of the software platform are algorithms from the founders' five dissertations. envelio was founded in 2017 and today employs more than 70 people and has more than 35 distribution grid operators as customers worldwide.
The team that advised HTGF, eCapital and Demeter consisted of Fenja Striesow (Corporate / M&A) and Jan-Marco Aatz (Merger Clearance) under the lead of Maximilian Vocke and partner responsibility of Benjamin Monheim (Corporate / M&A).
