International legal practice Osborne Clarke has advised financial services provider FWU AG on its acquisition of Fortuna Lebens-Versicherungs AG, Vaduz, from Generali Schweiz Holding AG. The acquisition of Liechtenstein-based Fortuna enables FWU Group to widen its European market access. The transaction is subject to approval by the regulatory authorities.
Fortuna Lebens-Versicherungs AG’s business focuses primarily on unit-linked life insurance. The company, headquartered in Vaduz (Liechtenstein), manages around 44,000 contracts with a focus on Western Europe and administers assets under management of approximately CHF 700 million.
An Osborne Clarke team led by Corporate Partner Dr Martin Sundermann advised FWU on the transaction. The team included Dr Mark Friedrich, Nathalie Merkle (both Corporate / M&A), Dr Hendrik Schöttle (IT law), Dr Thomas Funke and Ingo Spahr (Competition law).
The deal was supervised in-house by General Counsel Dr Holger Franz, Dr Elena Vogel and Andreas Manske.
