The FS HR & Compliance Network, the leading network for HR and Compliance practitioners in Financial Services organisations, is pleased to announce the successful agreement of their new legal sponsor - international law firm Osborne Clarke.

The sponsorship agreement, which completed in February 2021 following rigorous research and development to find an appropriate replacement, comprises Osborne Clarke’s commitment to provide high quality and innovative resources to deliver valuable insights and events for the Network’s members. The new sponsor takes over from Kemp Little, now Deloitte Legal, to join Veran Performance to deliver more valuable content and engaging events for members throughout 2021.

Tom Holmes, Founding Director of Veran Performance and Co-Founder of the FS HR & Compliance Network commented “We are thankful to the team at Kemp Little for their hard work, professional input and passion they showed for the Network in the last six years; we wish them every success on their new adventure. We have used this as an opportunity to recalibrate and reinvigorate the Network to continue to deliver informative and relevant content and events for our members.”

Financial regulatory challenges that the industry faces add an additional layer of complexity that arguably requires more thorough and sophisticated consideration. The Network and events set out to help organisations interpret financial regulation and the impact it has, as well as sharing best-practice and adopting an approach to regulation which is consistent across institutions in the industry.

Olivia Sinfield, Associate Director at Osborne Clarke, noted: “Financial Regulation is constantly changing and challenging financial services businesses. We are delighted to sponsor a Network that provides true value and insights for HR and Compliance professionals and aligns with Osborne Clarke’s imaginative thinking and deep industry experience that provides the edge businesses need.”

The FS HR & Compliance Network that provides free events and insights to HR and Compliance professionals at all levels working in financial services, has gone from strength to strength since launching in 2015 and excelled itself throughout the pandemic. Members were and continue to grapple with new, unprecedented challenges of being a regulated business while adapting to remote working as well as meeting the expectations of the FCA and PRA; expectations that are often open to interpretation.

Zoë Avenell, Chair of the FS HR & Compliance Network commented “Facilitating collaboration between HR and Compliance teams, as well as promoting consistency across the industry was the original inspiration of the Network and remains a central focus to this day. Our members relish the opportunity to meet and network with industry peers to share knowledge and best-practice and since the beginning of the pandemic, the Network has welcomed new individual members as organisations turn to the Network for guidance on how other firms are meeting requirements and overcoming the new challenges of remote working. We now have over 4,500 members and having met the team at Osborne Clarke, I am confident our members will benefit from their deep understanding and experience of regulation and the challenges HR and Compliance Teams face.”
