Dr Tobias Rothkegel advises leading companies and start-ups in the Life Sciences & Healthcare and Financial Services sectors on all matters pertaining to data protection laws and privacy compliance as well as on all legal aspects pertaining to cyber & information security and blockchain technology.
In the context of his data protection law practice, this includes in particular the structuring of international data flows, the design of Binding Corporate Rules, the set-up of data analysis projects as well as comprehensive advice on (extensive) cloud migration projects including the negotiation of corresponding contracts as well as the internal structuring and data protection law compliance of such projects.
At the intersection to cyber security, Tobias focuses on advising on the handling of cyber incidents such as ransomware attacks as well as the implementation of corresponding compliance organizations and management systems, in particular for the fulfilment of applicable legal obligations such as GDPR, NIS etc.
Another focus of his work is the legally compliant design and structuring of digitized business and government processes, especially with blockchain technology. In this context, Tobias further advises clients on the legal design of crypto and NFT products as well as corresponding technical solutions and business models.
Tobias has contributed to numerous publications in the field of data protection law, both in leading journals and in legal handbooks and commentaries, and is a regular speaker at professional meetings and conferences. Tobias is holder of the CIPP/E certification of the IAPP.
