Mirshad is an Associate in our Financial Institutions Group. He has experience advising retail banks, FinTechs and financial institutions, as well as point-of-sale lenders, retailers and non-traditional finance providers, on a wide range of financial services regulatory matters.

His practice focuses particularly on consumer credit and retail banking regulation. Mirshad has experience advising clients on the Consumer Credit Act 1974, the FSMA Regulated Activities Order, FCA Principles and Handbook rules (including CONC and MCOB), Payment Services Regulations 2017 and the Senior Managers and Certification Regime.

Mirshad regularly assists clients with drafting customer terms and conditions, advising on the implementation of new product offerings and the regulatory perimeter, assisting with FCA authorisation applications and setting up appointed representative arrangements. He also regularly supports our transactional teams with the regulatory elements of commercial contracts and corporate transactions.

Mirshad studied Law at the University of Aberdeen, before studying for an LLM at the London School of Economics. He joined Osborne Clarke as a Trainee in September 2021 and qualified with the firm in September 2023.

Prior to qualifying, Mirshad worked in various in-house legal teams, both inside and outside of financial services.
