Kristian acts for clients across a range of sectors in domestic and international litigation and arbitration. He has particular experience and expertise in complex cross-border commercial and fraud matters together with corporate disputes.
Much of his corporate disputes work involves acting on shareholder claims and claims for breaches of directors' duties. His experience includes acting/advising on derivative claims, unfair prejudice petitions, rectification proceedings, and post-M&A contractual disputes. Kristian recently acted for the successful claimants in a derivative claim (Boston Trust Company Limited v Szerelmey Limited). It is one of the very few derivative claims which proceeded to trial and which, prior to trial, involved numerous interim applications and an appeal to the Court of Appeal.
His cross-border disputes experience includes complicated jurisdiction challenges, freezing injunction applications, enforcement of judgments, fraud claims, insolvency disputes.
He also has significant experience advising international businesses on compliance with UK financial sanctions, including sanctions on Russia following its invasion of Ukraine.
Kristian is named in the Legal 500 as a 'rising star'. He trained with Osborne Clarke and qualified in September 2016.

Hard-fought derivative claim
Acted for the successful claimants in a hard-fought derivative claim. The claim involved an appeal to the court of appeal which set new law on standing to bring derivative claims and whether permission to continue derivative claims could be given on a conditional basis. The claim involved allegations of misappropriation of company assets by a major shareholder who was held to be a de facto/shadow director.
Qatar Airways
Acted for Qatar Airways in its successful claim against Al Arabiya News. The claim, which related to a publication on the effect of the Saudi-led blockade of Qatar in June 2017, involved a complex jurisdiction battle in the high court which the Claimants succeeded on.
Private high net worth individual
Acted for a defendant private HNW individual in an LCIA arbitration defending a ca $200m claim. The matter gave rise to various unusual procedural matters.
HNW shareholder
Acted for a HNW shareholder of a metals business in a unfair prejudice / fraud matter issued in the BVI.
