Gijs is an associate in our Financial Regulatory team and is based in the Amsterdam office.
Gijs advises on a wide range of complex regulatory matters relevant to Dutch and international financial institutions as well as assisting these clients with license applications with the Dutch regulators. He specialises in legislation for the banking and payments sector (e.g. CRD4 and PSD2), investment management sector (e.g. AIFMD and MiFID2), as well as in ESG requirements for the financial sector (e.g. SFDR, ECB Guide on climate risks)
Gijs obtained a Bachelor degree in Law & Economics and Master degree in Financial Law, at the University of Leiden. Prior to joining Osborne Clarke in September 2020, Gijs worked as a legal intern at several Dutch law firms.
