Ellie Downey

As a Senior Associate in the Commercial Disputes and IP team at Osborne Clarke, Ellie acts for clients across the firm's sectors, including Tech, Media and Comms, The Built Environment, Mobility and Infrastructure and Life Sciences and Healthcare.

She has experience advising clients on a broad range of commercial disputes, with a particular focus on technology issues and disputes.

Ellie also regularly advises clients in relation to a variety of intellectual property matters, including IP protection and enforcement policies and strategies, trade mark portfolio management and infringement, copyright infringement, trade secrets and confidential information claims and patent litigation.

Having joined Osborne Clarke as a trainee in September 2019, Ellie qualified as a solicitor in September 2021. During her training contract, she undertook a secondment at property fund and asset management company, BMO Real Estate Partners (now Columbia Threadneedle). In 2024, completed the Postgraduate Diploma in IP Law and Practice at the University of Oxford, achieving a Distinction.
