Akmal is a debt finance and restructuring lawyer with a broad range of experience in the areas of growth and venture lending, corporate lending and real estate finance.
The sectors that he works in most commonly are technology, life sciences and healthcare, funds, student accommodation, hotels, media and real estate.
He acts for banks, other lending institutions and borrowers and prides himself on developing long-term relationships with his clients. He believes that to help a client achieve its business goals a lawyer needs to be able to deliver prompt, commercial advice tailored to the nuances of their clients’ industry and sector focus.
Akmal re-joined Osborne Clarke in January 2012, having worked here previously between 2000 and 2004 and being made a Partner in 2002.
