Osborne Clarke advises Powerday

International legal practice, Osborne Clarke has advised Powerday on its agreement to supply fuel to the Hoddesdon Sustainable Energy Facility, Hertfordshire.
The new £60 million 10MWe gasification Waste-to-Energy plant, developed by AssetGen Partners and financed by Foresight Group and the Green Investment Bank alongside the Noy Infrastructure and Energy Fund and P3P Partners, will power 7,000 homes in Hertfordshire and reduce carbon emissions by 1.5 million tonnes over its lifetime.
Once the plant is operational, Powerday will provide up to 50,000 tonnes of refuse derived fuel (RDF) per year, produced from its existing waste treatment facility at Old Oak Common and its new facility at Enfield which is currently in development. Long-standing Osborne Clarke client, Powerday, is a leading producer of high-grade RDF, created from commercial and industrial waste from the Greater London area which would otherwise be destined for landfill.
