A whole latte trouble: will consumer pressure mean the end of plastic in retail?

The recent Blue Planet II documentary highlighted the terrible impact that plastics and other manufactured waste have on our oceans and wildlife. Since this, global brands, manufacturers and retailers are facing increasing pressure from consumers and the government to find more sustainable alternatives. The issue is also high on the agenda for legislators, with the European Parliament on 24 October 2018 backing a ban on many single-use plastic items by 2021.
