As part of its annual festive fundraising programme, international legal practice Osborne Clarke has donated a total of £16,128 to local charities in London, Bristol and Reading.

This year, the chosen location charities were Magic Breakfast, which delivers free breakfasts to vulnerable schoolchildren facing hunger in London; Feeding Bristol, a charity helping children and families facing food insecurity in Bristol; and Berkshire Women's Aid, which provides tailored support services to domestic abuse survivors in Reading.

Colleagues across Osborne Clarke's three UK offices have been raising money with the aim of making a significant impact on the lives of those in need. The firm hosted a series of festive events and activities throughout December, with colleagues donating an impressive £9,128 (including Gift Aid contributions), more than doubling the firm's target of £4,000.

Osborne Clarke's Charitable Trust donated an additional £6,000 through its matching scheme, and the firm contributed another £1,000 by replacing Christmas cards with email signatures, bringing total donations to £16,128.

Fundraising kicked off at the start of December with a mini prize draw and silent auction. Winners took home anything from a Fortnum & Mason hamper or signed England rugby shirt, to a Bristol spa break or tickets to the 2024 Carabao Cup Final – many generously donated by the firm's partners!

The festive breakfast trolley, mince pies and mulled wine kept appetites at bay, and a Christmas jumper competition and desk lottery day meant colleagues could make donations of any amount with a pay-as-you-feel policy. The ever-popular 'QUIZmas Cracker' quiz made its return and provided a lot of laughs to round off the festive fundraising campaign for 2023.

These donations will help support the chosen local charities over the Christmas period and beyond, and are part of the firm's broader, ongoing charitable giving activity, which is rooted in the Osborne Clarke For Good framework. This is the firm's way of ensuring it is a good employer, a good business and a good corporate citizen.
