International legal practice Osborne Clarke has appointed Thomas Devred – a regulatory and compliance Partner and a specialist in life sciences - to its team in France today.
With considerable expertise in health products compliance and regulation, Thomas works closely with key Pharma/Biotech, MedTech, cosmetics sector players to provide advice, dispute resolution and negotiate contracts
For Thomas, the decision to join Osborne Clarke was guided by the strong reputation of the firm in technology and personal data. As well as its service offering, particularly in the areas of corporate M&A and competition. "The health products industry is constantly changing. Digitalisation is at the heart of the industry's strategies to support and contribute to the control of public health spending," said Thomas.

Having previously overseen legal direction of several laboratories including Baxter, Baxalta and Shire at various regional levels (France & BeNeLux, Southern Europe, Middle East and French-speaking Africa), Thomas also spent fifteen years at Baker McKenzie.
Thomas holds a doctorate in commercial law and a Master of European law of health products. He has written numerous articles and doctrinal works in health product law, in both French and English.
Osborne Clarke's team in France, based in Paris, now has 13 Partners, four counsels and 28 fee-earners.
