International legal practice Osborne Clarke won Law Firm of the Year at the 2019 Thames Valley Deals Awards last night. Additionally, two of the key senior advisors in the team - Sara Valentine and Robert Wood - also made the shortlist for Lawyer of the Year.
The judges singled the Osborne Clarke's Thames Valley Team for being involved in a number of stand-out deals in the region. During the last year, the firm has had impressive international revenue growth in the last year, and has doubled UK income in the last five years.
Staged by The Business Magazine, the Thames Valley Deals Awards are the leading event in the region’s corporate finance calendar. From corporate advisers and lawyers to investors and funding specialists, the awards recognise the region's outstanding dealmakers.
Robert Wood, head of Osborne Clarke’s Reading office, commented on the award win:
"It's brilliant to be recognised as the leading law firm for the Thames Valley region. It's really recognition of the entire team's hard work and dedication during the last year, as we've been involved in all of the most notable transactions for leading companies, investors and banks in the region. The award also reflects the outstanding quality of advice and service we provide our clients."
Seen as "go to" law firm for mid-market deals in the Thames Valley, the team was also recently recognised by Legal 500 as the best technology law firm outside of London in 2018.
Osborne Clarke's team in the Southwest was also recently recognised as Bristol Law Society’s Law Firm of the Year in December 2018. The firm won Best Corporate Culture at the Managing Partners Forum Awards in March, ranks in the top five of RollOnFriday’s independent Firm of the Year employee survey for the last three years and was commended for its Osborne Clarke Solutions work at the FT Innovative Lawyer Awards in 2017 and 2018.
