Osborne Clarke has strengthened its Berlin office with the appointment of two IT legal experts: Dr Hans-Christian Woger and Benjamin Schaum. Hans-Christian joins as Counsel from CMS Hasche Sigle on 1 September and Benjamin Schaum will join as an Associate from Ernst & Young on 1 October.

Altogether seven colleagues work in Berlin in the area of corporate, IT and employment, with more to follow.

Hans-Christian Woger specialises in IT and data protection law. He advises mainly small and, mid-sized companies from the online and tech industry on data protection and software and e-commerce law matters.

Benjamin Schaum is an expert in IT and data protection law and advises clients from various sectors with a focus on the video games industry.

Osborne Clarke has one of the largest IT teams in Germany, comprising of 27 lawyers including seven partners. The international IT group comprises of more than 120 lawyers. They advise, amongst others, in the fields of data protection and data security, e-commerce, outsourcing, cloud computing, software licencing and games. The German team advises various DAX and MDAX companies as well as large medium-sized companies on digitalisation projects and on the implementation of the data protection regulation.
