International legal practice Osborne Clarke is strengthening its international tax offering with the appointment of a new UK corporate tax Partner – Mathew Oliver – who joins the team today.

Previously head of the UK and International tax group at Bird & Bird, Mathew brings solid corporate tax expertise in M&A, venture capital and corporate structuring and he is well-versed at providing VAT advice on commercial matters both in the UK and internationally. Mathew also has strong Tech, Media and Comms sector experience having advised tech-related clients for a number of years.

He is also a regular commentator on multijurisdictional tax issues and a member of the Chartered Institute of Tax and The Law Society.

Mathew's appointment follows on from Osborne Clarke's recent announcement in September that Job van der Pol joined as head of tax in the Netherlands.
