There are 101 LGPS Pension Funds throughout the UK, making it one of the largest pension funds in the world, with 4.8m members and £180bn of assets.
The frameworks allow quicker and more efficient access to high-quality pension fund services by removing the need to independently undertake a full European Union (OJEU) equivalent procurement.
The OC team that was appointed to the panel was led by Partner Mark Womersley, together with Associate Director Daragh McGinty. Partner Brent Wright was also instrumental in winning the appointment.
Partner and head of Osborne Clarke’s LGPS practice Mark Womersley commented:
“Building on our pioneering role with the framework for LGPS legal services in the South West, it’s great news that as a firm, we have been appointed to the new national framework. The pace of change for the LGPS is unrelenting, so having access to the kind of specialist and cost-effective advice which the framework promises is good news for funds and their employers. We’re looking forward to rolling our sleeves up and getting to work with our LGPS clients.”
Osborne Clarke was appointed to the main pension fund full service panel alongside seven other law firms.
