Osborne Clarke has announced its three new UK location charity partners: Feeding Bristol in Bristol, Magic Breakfast in London and Berkshire Women's Aid in Reading.
The firm supports three charities local to each of its UK offices every two years, which are nominated and voted on by its people. The selected charities are aligned with the firm's CSR strategy and social impact themes: Equality, Poverty, Education, and Environment.
Through local and cross-office fundraising initiatives matched by the Osborne Clarke Charitable Trust, ad-hoc volunteering and pro-bono work, Osborne Clarke will support each of the following charity partners until May 2025:
Bristol: Feeding Bristol
Feeding Bristol is dedicated to tackling food poverty and promoting food security in Bristol. They collaborate with local organisations, businesses, and volunteers to ensure everyone has access to nutritious food. Initiatives include providing meals during school holidays, supporting food banks, promoting community growing projects, and advocating for policy changes. Through these efforts, Feeding Bristol aims to create a more equitable and resilient food system.
London: Magic Breakfast
Magic Breakfast is a UK charity with a primary focus on ending child hunger through the provision of healthy breakfasts to vulnerable children. While their efforts extend nationwide, they place a significant emphasis on supporting schools and communities in London. They offer volunteering opportunities, raise awareness about child hunger, and engage with the wider community.
Reading: Berkshire Women's Aid
Berkshire Women's Aid is a Reading-based charity that supports women and children affected by domestic abuse. They provide refugee accommodation, helpline support, counselling, and advocacy services. The charity also offers volunteering opportunities to deliver helpline support, fundraising, and assisting survivors. Their mission is to empower survivors and raise awareness about domestic abuse.
"We're pleased to announce our office location charity partners. It's fantastic that our people have the opportunity to nominate and vote for charities that align with their values, while also supporting a key pillar of the firm's 2025 strategy to deepen our impact in our communities. Over the next 20 months, we are committed to actively supporting these charities through fundraising efforts, volunteering, and pro bono support.
What's truly commendable is the active involvement of our people with organisations that directly benefit our local communities. They are harnessing their skills and expertise to help these organisations enhance their services, ultimately reaching marginalized groups and the most vulnerable individuals in our society."
The support of the firm's three UK location charities is part of the firm's broader, ongoing charitable giving activity, which is rooted in the Osborne Clarke For Good framework. This is the firm's way of ensuring it's a good employer, a good business and a good corporate citizen.
