Autotorino S.p.A., Italy’s largest car dealer, was advised by Osborne Clarke in its recent acquisition of Idea Uno S.r.l., a company owning 8 Mercedes-Benz branches, operating under the Autocentauro brand, in Lombardy and Piedmont.
Osborne Clarke’s multidisiciplinary team was led by partners Riccardo Roversi and Alessandro Villa, with senior lawyer Alberto Passera and trainee Matteo Tracanella, together with partner Stefano Lava, senior lawyer Cristina Del Pezzo di Caianello and lawyer Vincenzo Colasante advising on employment issues and by senior associate Angelo Molinaro on antitrust issues.

As a result of the transaction, authorised by the Italian Antitrust Authority and with the approval of Mercedes-Benz Italy, Autotorino S.p.A. has consolidated its territorial presence in Lombardy and expanded to Piedmont. Starting from 1 November 2021, the 306 employees of the Autocentauro branches will join the Autotorino team, which now numbers 2,000 employees, operating in 62 branches, across 5 regions of Northern Italy.
The acquisition coincides with the relaunch phase of the Italian economy and prepares Autotorino to face the post-pandemic scenario in the Automotive sector. Osborne Clarke once again confirms its role alongside innovative realities that intend to act as key players in the new area of energy transition.
