International legal practice Osborne Clarke has been shortlisted for the JUVE Award’s ‘Law Firm of the Year’ as well as for best law firm in the media and technology and competition law categories. The award ceremony will be held on 26 October 2017 in Frankfurt.

With the JUVE Award for ‘Law Firm of the Year’, the publisher’s editorial team honours law firms for their development and in particular their management services. A key aspect is a dynamic performance in the past year as well as factors like sustainability, continuity and consistent management. The nominations are based on information obtained from thousands of discussions and written consultations with clients, partners, junior lawyers and judges. This year around 20.000 contacts were surveyed.
Osborne Clarke has recently reported another very successful last year in Germany, with revenue for the four offices increasing by 13 per cent to EUR 40.1m in the reporting period 2016/17. The firm’s total international revenue increased to EUR 245,1m.
Osborne Clarke has more than 850 lawyers in 24 international offices. In Germany, the firm added lateral partner Dr Thomas Grünvogel, a specialist for contract and product liability law in the automotive sector, as well as senior counsel Robert Hunter, a leading expert on international investment and commercial arbitration. Additionally the firm recently appointed a new Partner and nine Counsels.
Currently Osborne Clarke has particular high demand in the following areas:
- Digitalization and data protection – The firm has had a large amount of enquiries regarding the implementation of a number of General Data Protection Regulation projects.
- Cartel damage claims – The firm has advised the damaged parties regarding the truck cartel.
- M&A transactions in technology industries – The firm recently advised ProSiebenSat.1 and Allgeier on acquisitions as well as various companies on investments in start-ups (Corporate venture capital). Osborne Clarke has been listed in eleventh position in Thompson Reuters’ 2016 Midcap M&A ranking in Germany.
