Osborne Clarke has advised Usercentrics, on a multi-million euro growth financing round. The investment is led by Cavalry Ventures and Reimann Investors who invest together with other well-known business angels like Kai Seefeldt (Producsup), Axel Täubert (Google/DoubleClick) and Jens Lapinski (Angel Invest Ventures).
Founded at the beginning of 2018 by experienced entrepreneur Mischa Rürup (former founder of intelliAd), Vinzent Ellissen and Lisa Gradow, the Munich-based technology company has developed a software solution for enterprise customers to technologically process the changes caused by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Customers can gather, manage and legally document the user’s consent for data processing with the help of the innovative Consent Management Platform (CMP).
Usercentrics targets large advertising companies, publishers and agencies that benefit from the software-as-a-service-solution, which can be simply integrated in existing technology-stacks such as DoubleClick, Salesforce, Slack, Mailchimp and other tools. The founders have sector-specific expertise in the areas of online advertising, technology and law.
Cavalry Ventures invests in digital business models irrespective of the industry and supports start-ups in their early growth phases. The company’s focus is on the German and European market.
Reimann Investors is the family office of members of the entrepreneurial family Reimann. The family divested itself of its investments in the previous family business in the end of the 1990s. Its focus lies in capital market and direct entrepreneurial investments.
The Osborne Clarke team advising Usercentrics on the investment was led by Corporate and Venture Capital Partner Robin Eyben (Berlin). The team also included Till-Manuel Saur, Sophie Hoffmann (both Corporate/VC, Berlin), Konstantin Ewald (IT, Cologne) and Dr Andrea Schmoll (IP, Cologne).
